保谷の小さな家　Tokyo, 2015

角地の旗竿状敷地に建つ建築面積約8坪、床面積約16坪のいわゆる狭小住宅である。
三方を隣地の建物に囲まれ、北側のみ現在は開けているが、将来的には現在駐車場となっている北側隣地のスペースも建物が建つ可能性がある。つまり四方を隣地に囲まれてしまっている敷地である。そのような敷地の中でいかに閉鎖的にならず、開放的で自然光に溢れた快適な居住空間をつくることができるか、ということが課題であった。

1階と2階が連続的につながるよう2階に段差を設け、2つの階を開放的な階段で結んでいる。唯一直接光が取り込める南側の2階に大きく開口をとり、そこから1階の各部屋に光を取り込むようにした。
1部屋には2階の床に段差をとることで光を取り込み、もう1部屋には2階の床を光床にすることで採光を確保した。

窓の少ない建物が周囲の町なみに対して量塊感を持った存在とならないように、外壁は2色のガルバリウム鋼板をストライプ状に張っている。
天井はすべて架構をあらわしにすることで、条件の不利な敷地にも関わらず、ローコストながら開放感のある居住空間を実現することができた。

Hoya house is a small and thinned sized house, which is located at a corner of flagpole-like site. The building area is 28.97m2 and the total floor area is 52.56m2.
At the present, the site boundaries are surrounded by neighboring land buildings except the north side. However, there will be a possibility of building construction for the north boundary as well in the future, which is currently a parking.
The theme was to create a comfortable and open residential space with a full of natural light in such an enclosed site condition.
A step was providing on the second floor to connect the first and the second floor continuously with an open staircase .
A big opening was constructed at the south side of second floor to capture the direct light, and it will then expand to the first floor. One room will get the natural light through the gap of second floor`s step and the other one will take it by makinge the second floor as a light floor.
Stripe patterns of two different colored Galbalume steel plates were used for the exterior wall to not give a heavy impression to the surrouned townscape.
In spite of the disadvantageous site of the conditions, low cost and open living space has been achieved through expressing all the ceiling structural flames.
