長崎駅舎・駅前広場デザインプロポーザル　3等案

九州新幹線が長崎まで延伸する事にあわせて、長崎駅は新幹線・在来線が高架化され、さらに駅前広場までが整備される。その計画のためのデザインプロポーザルで、駅舎と駅前広場を合わせた提案を求められた。 長崎駅は終着駅であり、その先には海が広がり、周囲を山に囲まれた美しい景色の中に在る。駅が高架化されることで、列車を降りた人々はさらにその美しい景色を近くに感じることができる。その体験を最大限に美しく演出するために、大屋根の架構を消し、大スパンの鉄板シェルの構造体を提案した。 言うなれば「風景のためにある」軽い大屋根の構造体に対して、1階のコンコースと駅前広場は、石の街長崎にふさわしい、重厚感と素材感のある「人のためにある」空間とした。

Nagasaki Station will be elevated Shinkansen-conventional lines and maintenance until the station square in accordance with the Kyushu Shinkansen which will be stretched to Nagasaki. For the design proposal plan, it was asked to propose the combined station building and station square. Nagasaki station is a terminus where sea spread with a picturesque scenery surrounded by the mountains. People who got off the train can be further feel the beautiful scenery nearby since the station to be elevated. In order to produce a beautiful experience utmost, take out the large roof structure and large pan of the iron plate structure was suggested. Against the large light weight roof structure “for landscape”, the first floor of the concourse and the station square has been decided to be a space “for people” with profound feeling and texture, where is appropriate of the stone city of Nagasaki.
